Life can be so fragile

visited my friend at the hospital yesterday. she just gave birth to a baby girl, her 2nd time being a mother. the baby was so small at 2.7kg. could also be due to the fact that she is premature by 3.5 weeks. My friend was asking me to help her put on the mittens when i saw how tiny her hands are. she was moving her hands around and i was so afraid of breaking those tiny fingers coz it seems so fragile.

another of my friend was there at the hospital and they were just talking about what parents would do to get their kids to the "favoured" schools. one of them has joined the RC so that his kids can have a better chance. another is considering joining the alumni so that her daughter also has a better chance. she even said her sister had shifted house many times just to get closer to the schools of her choice. never knew parents could be so crazy these days. actually its not really something new but maybe i didnt bother about such things yet.

was having lunch with ms w and mdm c today. ms w was telling about how one of her colleagues worked to death (quite literally coz she was still worrying about submitting her files for review the day before she passed away). have been hearing too many stories of such cases and its really sad.

conclusion: better enjoy each day and treasure the things you have now. life can be so fragile.
